Music Box

Creative 3D Modelling using 3Ds Max.

Aim, Vision, and Outcome

This project focused on polygon modeling in 3D Max, where I explored a range of techniques, including Editable Poly, Boolean operations, modifiers, and UVW mapping, to create a detailed and polished 3D piano music box. My vision was to combine technical precision with creative flair, drawing inspiration from the elegance of a traditional music box but elevating it with bold, high-contrast colours and rich materials. The outcome features a piano body with integrated elements, including a ballerina, speaker, and intricate mechanics, finished in dark tones with red and gold highlights, for a refined, high-end aesthetic. Along the way, I problem-solved challenges with UVW unwrapping and form complexity, which helped me strengthen both my modelling and texturing skills, resulting in a sophisticated, visually engaging piece.
