Toaster

A user-friendly toaster designed for a specific bread shape, refined through sketches and a cardboard physical prototype.

Aim: to design a creative and functional toaster specifically tailored to fit a uniquely shaped piece of toast. My design was inspired by pop-art style while prioritising minimalist usability, balancing bold geometric aesthetics with practical considerations.

Using Adobe Illustrator for precise laser-cutting measurements, Fusion 360 for 3D modelling, and physical prototyping to test and refine, the process highlighted how essential usability is within product design.

Outcome: The outcome features an accordion-style door for accessibility, raised feet for stability, a rotating heating dial, and perforated air-flow detailing. Overall, I loved the creative process of this task and designing for usability.
